As parents, we know discussing topics such as bullying, coping with disabilities or accepting other’s differences can be hard conversations to have with children, especially with preteens and teenagers. But these are necessary conversations that teach our children important life lessons and help them become well-rounded and kind-hearted adults.
Books can help you start the dialogue and guide your discussions on these sometimes uncomfortable subjects with your kids. Whether a book is motivational, inspirational or teaches a life lesson, it can help us understand other people’s perspectives, allow us to appreciate our differences and help us keep an open mind and heart.
